New items, made self and bought

Hi,
I have done some new items and also bought some.

Made by me

A pink Christmas house decoration.

A pink gift bag with some gifts in it.

Crochet blanket for cold winter evenings...

... and one to the pink house also :)

Some buyings

A new sofa and table in the sewing room.

A rocking chair in the kitchen.

Mint in box! I had this kitchen already, but I bought this because of the table and chairs. They are so great!

Best Wishes,
Kirsi

My miniatures made at a dolls house course

Hi,
I had a lovely weekend because I was at a dolls house course. The teacher was talented Maria Malmström so I got very good advice.

I made chairs and one flower table.

1) Armchair "Egg". I made this of flower fabric, but maybe later I´ll make also a red one.

2) Plywood chair. This one I made of thin plywood.

3) Flower table of plywood. I just love this and it´s my own design by the way :)

4) 1:12 scale chair. I painted the decorations because I wanted the same style as in the seat fabric.

These items have already found their places in my houses :)

Finds from dolls house exhibitions

Hi,
today we were at dolls house festival Suuri Snadi (in English Great Big or something like that). I found lot of Lundby and items that go with Lundby scale. I am very pleased with my finds :)

I think I did not pay too much :)

We also bought something else, if you like to see, please visit our 1:12 blog Pikkuista. Especially, see the picture number 2; tiny wicker sofa and armchairs, they would go with Lundby scale as well.

Some miniatures made recently

Pictures of miniatures I have made recently in Lundby scale.

Small matrioska dolls. By the way, the cupboard is made by Emma! Isn´t she talented!

An ironing board, made by me from the beginning :) Very retro style cover.

This board is Lundby´s, I just made a new cover.

Dolls house basket made of aida fabric

Hi,
in my yesterday´s posting I showed you pictures of a shelf I made with aida fabric baskets. Here are some instructions if you would like to do one yourself. New aida fabric is stout enough for this purpose. This is my way of doing the basket of aida, but I am sure there are other ways too.

1. Draw the bottom of the box in size you need in to the cardboard and cut it off.

2. Cut the aida fabric so that there is enough to go round the basket bottom and a little bit extra. Remember to measure the hight you wish to have in your basket.

3. I always fold the edges before I clue. Use the bottom to show you the corners where to fold.

4. Clue the bottom part's edges (I use Tacky Clue) and place the aida fabric. Let the fabric go little one on the other at the back (use clue).

5. I use Fray Stay on the upper edge so my basket will not fray!

6. For handles you can use almost anything! Here are some examples (the first ones are ear rings and the pink one is a piece of plastic).

Good to know :)

Did you know there are also patterned aida fabrics on the market! These patterned fabrics are really nice also to make baskets and boxes.

Happy crafting,
Kirsi
